Colorado State 2006
Our
23rd Annual Colorado State Championship was held
on June 24th, 2006 in Grand Lake. Starting on
Friday night we had a gathering / cooks party at the beach
park at the lake. We were pleased to have about 20 people
show up for this and received some good comments so I think
we will do it again next year.
Our
thanks to everyone that brought items for the Silent Auction
again this year. The Fire Department was not able to collect
many things this year due to a lot of their members being
out of town helping on the many forest fires that were going
on around the state. Once again you all did a great job
bringing things to help out and I know it is appreciated by
the Fire Department and it really helps raise a lot more
money for the charity. Once again we were generous hosts for
our out of state visitors allowing them to take 8 of the top
ten places. Congratulations to our Colorado State top
finishers and automatic qualifiers for the Terlingua
International Championship, Brent Leonard, Amy Hardesty and
Linda Wilkinson. Karen Hendricks and her “God
Bless America” team took first place in showmanship which
qualifies them also for Terlingua in November. When all is
said and done I believe everyone had a great time
